Football Fixture – Year 8 vs. Robert Clack
BackThe Warren School played Robert Clack in the Barking & Dagenham Borough League.
We started the game very poorly and Robert Clack got two quick penalties when their forwards were brought down before they scored. The tactics of kicking the ball over the top was working very well for Robert Clack and they scored another to make it 3-0. They then scored directly from the corner to make it 4-0. At half time we found ourselves 4-0 down and licking our wounds.
After a sensational pep talk from manager Mr Murray the boys rallied early in the second half and were awarded a quick penalty. Unfortunately, we missed this opportunity to get back into the game. The boys kept their heads up and continued to dominate the game. We were then awarded another penalty after some great football from Hayden, Haseeb and Sonny. This time Haseeb scored from the spot to make it 4-1. Soon after this Ethan scored directly from a free kick from 25 yards into the roof of the net to make it 4-2. We were pushing constantly for more goals and missed several chances to decrease the deficit.
In the second half the defending from Alex, MJ, Tahmid and Kitson was sensational and allowed us to win the second half 2-0.
The final score was 4-2 to Robert Clack but Mr Murray was so impressed with the second half performance.
