Sixth Form Trip to Linklaters Law Firm

Year 12 and 13 students who were interested in a career in law, finance, IT or HR, attended Linklaters Law firm in London, opposite the Barbican Centre. Students were involved in the different careers-related activities on the day, starting with a careers carousel-type discussion; students spoke with several employees from Linklaters, learning about their roles, career paths and what it’s like to work at the law firm. Students then took part in a workshop, where they learnt to develop their transferable skills within a professional environment.

Students were also treated to a tour of the premises, to show them what it would be like to work for a large law firm 30 minutes from home, in the heart of the City of London.

Jessica in Year 13 said, “I am absolutely certain that I want to be a lawyer and this trip today has just conformed that to me. The lawyers I had the chance to speak to were all really happy with their career choice. I am so lucky to be in a school that supports students in this way by offering such brilliant opportunities like this one. It really helps make up your mind about the sort of career you want to have.”
