Sustainability Careers Festival – The London Stadium
BackOn Thursday the 5th December our Year 9 students attended the Sustainable Careers Festival, hosted at the London Stadium which was built for the 2012 London Olympics in Stratford.
Students enjoyed eating their lunch in the stands with the Army band playing for their pleasure. The students were impeccably behaved throughout the trip and were excellent ambassadors for the Warren School.
After lunch students then had the opportunity to peruse around the stadium and interact with many of the companies and universities that were in attendance.
Companies and Universities represented included TFL, CGI, London Port Authority, BT, Sky, Virgin Media, BBC, The British Navy, The British Army, The RAF, Capel College, London Scand many more.
The representatives from these companies talked to the students about how their businesses were becoming more sustainable and what opportunities were available to students at the age of 18, in terms of apprenticeships and for graduates of any age.
Students were extremely engaged and Dylan was particularly impressed, “I am very grateful for having the opportunity to attend this careers festival as it has really helped me understand how many different jobs there are out and all within an hour of where I live”.
