PE Fixtures Update
Back
Throughout the last term, the PE department have provided The Warren students with the opportunity to compete in sports against other schools in the borough, including Year 7, 8 and 9 fixtures in football. Students have gained valuable experience from completing these fixtures, including increasing their confidence, tactical awareness, team work skills and resilience.
In addition to football, the students have also competed within the borough for Basketball. The matches were highly anticipated by all teams with all teams determined to score a win. KS4 students (Year 10) competed in a fantastic game vs. Eastbury on the 14th March 2023. Both teams played to the best of their abilities with students demonstrating high level skills, beneficial to incorporate in their PE GCSE practical exams.
On top of this, students have had the opportunity to visit the Copperbox Arena to watch both basketball and netball. Students spoke to players and asked questions about the game and their training regime. One student said, “this is amazing, I wouldn’t have known this was here before today” another stated, “the speed of the game was fantastic, players were constantly communicating effectively with one another and I hope I can take this into my PE lessons.”
