Spring Showcase
Back
On Wednesday 29th March we held our Spring Showcase which featured musical, drama and dance performances and also displayed the textiles work from our recent fashion show.
The evening began with a large ensemble of Year 7 students from across all the classes who had learnt a piece in their Music lessons. For many students they had only been learning the instrument for a few weeks and they concentrated and performed collectively so well having only rehearsed it together as an ensemble on the day of the show! Outstanding professionalism was shown by all!
We also had amazing solo performances on the keyboard, guitar, voice and violin, fantastic Year 10 GCSE drama pieces which gripped the audience, choir performances and three brilliant dance performances which students had worked on during their PE lessons and lunchtimes. This showcased a wide range of talent across the whole evening.
Parents commented that they were so impressed with the quality of the performances:
"My child would never have had the confidence to do anything like this before, but this week she has been in a fashion show, sung with choir and performed in a dance. It's amazing!"
"It was great to see so many different students involved, I don't know how they all fitted on stage at the end!"
Thank you to everyone who performed, helped out and supported the show, to Ayan who was our Sound Engineer for the evening, and to all the parents who came along.
