University of Oxford Trip November 2023
BackHigh achieving Year 10 and Year 11 students were invited to Wadham College of the University of Oxford to see what it would be like to attend one of the world’s most prestigious universities.
Upon arrival, students were told about the UCAS process, how Oxford differs from other Russell Group universities and what a typical day is like for a first year student. Students then went into a Chemistry challenge in Wadham's BioMed labs where they had to solve numerous puzzles linked to GCSE Chemistry. Our students were treated to a lunch in the canteen, were given a tour of the College from a first year Classics student who showed us the dining hall, the quad, the library and student accommodation. Before leaving, students were able to utilise their language skills in a seminar led by Madeline who organised the day. Behaviour was exemplary throughout and thanks to Mr Goodman for organising and driving the mini bus and to Mr Hargreaves for supporting the trip.
