The Warren School hosted a visit from three civil engineers from J Murphy in April 2024. As part of the day, our Year 12 engineering students were taught how to use site surveying equipment to measure distance, inclination and levels to the degree of accuracy required on large civil engineering projects.

In the afternoon, the visiting engineers spoke to the students about career paths and opportunities within the civil engineering sector.  Students found the day very informative and useful, with several students now considering careers in this sector of engineering.

The site manager for Murphy from Padnall Lake was extremely complimentary about how engaged and polite the Year 12 students were, and he went on to say the next step is to get the students to come up to the site in Padnall Lake in the Summer to experience a real workplace, construction site in action.Image003Image002 (1)
