On Tuesday 7th May 2024 the Warren School hosted the Royal Navy.

Approximately 600 students in Year 9, Year 10 and Year 12, were provided with an opportunity to be part of a presentation on careers by the Royal Navy.

Students were informed about the opportunities to join the Navy aged 16 after GCSE’s and then at 18 after completing A Levels or BTEC Nationals and even when graduating with a degree from university. Students were told about the excellent starting salary, the 6 weeks paid holiday and the opportunity to see the world.

Students were also informed about the amazing sporting opportunities that were available in the Royal Navy. If you want to continue performing at a high standard in any sport the Royal Navy will sponsor you and allow you to compete around the world.

The presentation showed students that a career in the Royal Navy was exciting, different, global and anything but ordinary. They talked about offering free training for engineers and medics with huge transferable skills that could be taken into the outside world.

As part of our careers programme at The Warren we want out students to have the best information, advice and guidance possible. We want our students to think nationally, globally and not just locally when they are thinking about their own career.

Students who would like more information about joining the Royal Navy will be able to attend the offices in London for a more detailed look at the opportunities on offer.Image002
