Year 7 students who have excelled in History this year had the opportunity to think and work like historians this week as they visited Valence House Archives in Dagenham. Year 7 are currently completing local history projects focusing on heroes from our area, and we are beginning to focus on the 90^th anniversary of our school which is next year.

At the archive, students got to handle primary sources such as newspaper articles relating to our school, student reports from the 1950s, log books and school photos from the 1940s, and photos from The Warren School fire of 1982. The archivist kindly showed the students how archival material is stored and also the remains of an exploded V2 Bomb which was dropped in the local area. Students learnt so much from this visit and was a timely reminder that history surrounds us all wherever we are.
