We Compose 2024-2025

We have been very lucky to be selected again to be part of the Music in the Round project "We Compose" which involves our students working with a professional composer to create their own pieces of music for a string quartet.

This year we will be working with a different quartet called The Consone Quartet who have been selected as BBC New Generation Artists and have won international prizes for their performances.

On 26th September 20 Warren students were able to see them perform a variety of pieces which can inspire the student work. The musicians demonstrated a wide range of sounds and techniques and chatted with our students after the performance.

"I really liked the first piece which was about Death and the Maiden, I could hear the two characters in the music."

"The last one was really amazing where the quartet were playing with beats and loops that had been pre-recorded, it was loud and energetic"

We look forward to working with our composer for this year, professional composer and songwriter Chloe Knibbs and also hearing the new music created by Warren students.
