BackThrilling comeback sees The Warren School U13s Girls Team triumph 3-2 over William Edward School in the Essex Cup
The team were away to William Edward School in the Essex U13s Girls Cup.
In an electrifying encounter, our team staged a remarkable comeback to secure a thrilling 3-2 victory after trailing 2-0 in the first half. This game showcased not only determination but also resilience.
It was the home side who struck first finding the back of the net after 15 minutes. The goal stunned our team and we continued to battle. Just before the half the team doubled their lead and with a 2-0 deficit at the break the girls were determined to fight til the end.
As the second half kicked off, our team came out with a lot of energy and determination. Amanah ran with the ball and slotted it home past the keeper bringing the score to 2-1. Our players pressed forward creating several chances. ten minutes later Rahma Ahmed was passed the ball by Evie Boreham and weaved through the defenders before slotting the ball past the goalkeeper. The score now level at 2-2.
With just 4 minutes left our relentless pursuit paid off. A perfectly timed through ball found our winger, who raced down the pitch and once again Amanah slotted the ball through the keepers legs.
The final whistle blew, sealing a 3-2 victory. The players embraced each other, celebrating a hard fought win that highlighted their character and teamwork.
