Almodóvar on the Edge - Trip to BFI Southbank Cinema

The A Level Spanish students attended a really engaging study day on Pedro Almodóvar at the BFI Southbank Cinema.

In the morning, they looked at his filming techniques and linked Almodóvar’s biography to his different films with expert speakers from Bristol University. In the afternoon, the students watched the film Volver, which is one of the set texts for the A Level Spanish exam. One student commented, “It was good that they were interactive with questioning the audience. They showed other films by Almodóvar that you could link to Volver which I am now interested in watching.”
