Year 13 Engineering Trip to the Network Rail Apprenticeship Open Day

On Tuesday 21st February, our Year 13 Engineering students had the opportunity to attend the Network Rail Apprenticeship Open Day at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Stratford, London.
We were met by the head of apprenticeship recruitment who welcomed all of the students and informed them about all of the different opportunities within the company.
Students then split up into pairs and went around a carousel of Network Rail employees who all represented a different component of the company, from IT, HR, data analysts, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, design, construction and many more.
Network Rail employees, including directors, talked students through each aspect of the company and explained in detail what the role entailed in real terms.
Students were all provided with a letter and QR code to scan and apply directly for one of the many apprenticeships on offer at Network Rail. Students seemed extremely interested and engaged in what the Network Rail staff had to say.
Gedrzej said, “this was a really great opportunity for me to meet engineers from a really big company and, after speaking to many of the staff, I am definitely going to apply for the Electrical Engineering Degree apprenticeship with Network Rail. I’m so glad that the school provides us with these opportunities. I would never had known about this open day if it wasn’t for the school.”
