A group of Year 10 pupils visited University College London (UCL) for a schools’ insight day. Pupils were able to see what a university campus looks like, tour its facilities and subject areas, sit in a lecture hall and speak to current students. The focus of the day was to provide pupils with an insight into how to apply for higher education, how it is funded and to support pupils with revision strategies.

UCL is one of the most prestigious universities in the country and was ranked 8th in the QS World University Rankings 2023. Visiting such a reputable university clearly indicates to pupils the aspirations that we have for them and sets high expectations as to what we believe they can achieve.

Last year, The Warren School's sixth form was ranked top in the borough for A Level grades A* - A, with more than 1 in 3 grades being within this parameter. From 2022's Year 13 cohort, 104 were accepted to university; with 86% of these pupils securing their first-choice option, and 38% of pupils securing places at Russell Group university.

We hope that such trips shall continue to raise our students’ aspirations and that our Year 10 cohort can in a few years’ time achieve as good as - if not better - results than what our sixth form has already celebrated.
